Every year when International Women’s Day is approaching there is an enthusiastic anticipation in the Risky Women community! Since 2014, Risky Women has been connecting, celebrating and championing women in Risk, Regulation and Compliance. Our global Risky Women embody the theme this year of #choosetochallenge.
You can explore the journey of women in the industry throughout the three seasons of Risky Women Radio. From our regulators to the Reg-tech pioneers, there are endless examples of passion, innovation and results. Within all journeys there are twists and turns, with the need to show agility often transforming our approach or direction. Transformation is what Season 4 of the podcast is all about and our partners at Protiviti will lead our travels and take us to look at the road ahead, showing us how and where the industry is heading.
The challenge remains real and we need to keep our focus on change. Less than a quarter of the people we see, hear and read about in the news are women. Only 19% of cited expert sources and 23% of the top editors across major global news outlets are women, a percentage that is much lower in APAC compared with other regional markets. We want to celebrate and expose the talent in the industry for #IWD2021 and beyond. Today we are launching the Risky Women to Watch list.
The Women to Watch list begins with 25 women in 11 countries including USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia to name a few. Check out their profiles and get to know them! You can explore their top achievements, highlighting the immense talent in the group covering a range of facets from financial crime, stopping slavery to ethics and education. Curiosity, listening and being open to different perspectives are just some of the attributes for successful leaders shared by our W2W. You can also discover some of the hidden talents in the group, ranging from photography to search and rescue diving to short story writing. This is just start, so if you are a Risky Woman or know a Risky Woman, add them to the list!
It’s time to Shine! Happy International Women’s Day for 2021.
